Jose Mourinho is disappointed with the red card decision

Tottenham hosted Chelsea in the Premier League game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (22/12/19), the game ended up with 2-0 defeat.

A brace from Willian on 12th and 45+4 minute clinched the victory over Spurs.

The most important factor of the match was Son’s red card. Son and Rudiger tangled when both chased down a ball in the Chelsa half and ended up with a foul. The VAR consultation referee Anthony Taylor sent off Son for his foul. Ever since a controversy started off and Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho suggested Chelsa’s Antonio Rudiger deserved the card.

Jose Mourinho makes fun of  Antonio Rudiger

“I hope Rudiger will recover from broken ribs because he will have broken ribs for sure.”Jose Mourinho told Sky Sports.

Jose Mourinho thinks Son’s red card is a strange one

“If he does nothing and the referee immediately gives a yellow card to Rudiger then he won’t have a reaction.

“But if he doesn’t then you can have this sort of emotional reaction. which the referee and VAR has to analyze.

“For me football is football, the Premier League will be English football and for me, that red card is a strange one.

“But I don’t want to focus on that because my team lost and I have to be complementary to my opponents because they had the better handle on the game.”

Jose Mourinho thinks the referee only followed the protocol

“I saw nothing, I saw the referee follow the protocol, he came to (fourth official referee) Andre Marriner, he came to me and Frank Lampard and told us what was happening.”

Jose Mourinho says they are disappointed

“The protocol was followed and we are one of the clubs… every club is together on this situation and of course, we are disappointed.”

Tottenham will play their next game against Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday (26/12/19) at 6.00 pm IST.
