Freddie Ljungberg becomes the Asst manger of Arsenal & will assist Mikel Arteta
Arsenal’s newly appointed head coach Mikel Arteta will be assisted by Arsenal legend Freddie Ljungberg, Steve Round, and Albert Stuivenberg, Tuesday (24/12/19) confirmed by the club officials.
Freddie Ljungberg took the caretaker post of Arsenal after the departure of Unai Emery last month.
Mikel Arteta is expected to sit down with Freddie and discusses how the club will move on to their next endeavors.
Mikel Arteta addressed the BBC Sports and shared his thoughts.
Mikel Arteta says he shared his idea to Freddie and they will work together for the new chapter of the club
” I spoke to Freddie after the game. I told him my idea and the people I wanted to bring to form my coaching staff, their roles, and the responsibilities of each of them.
“I wanted to know what he was feeling, I wanted to know what he had in mind, what his expectations were.
“We talked and we made a decision that the best thing was for him to stay with us. I think he can be very available.
“I think he knows the players, he knows the situation, he knows the history of where we’re coming from and also his knowledge of the game is going to really help us to be better.
“I knew him a little bit obviously, and we will start a new chapter now with new ideas, new ways of doing things. I got a really good impression. He’s ready to help. He was very positive.”Mikel Arteta spoke to the BBC Sports.
Arsenal will play their next game against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Thursday (26/12/19) at the Dean Court Arena sharp at 8.30 pm IST.
