Finally FSDL met AIFF for developing the standard of referring in ISL
All the Indian Super League (ISL) teams questions about the referring standard this season.
According to News 18, Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL) who runs the Indian Super League (ISL), met the All Indian Football Federation (AIFF) to improve the refereeing standard. FSDL asked AIFF for a short term and a long term solution for developing good refereeing in the ISL.
This match-turning situation which comes from the wrong referring is a high concern for the ISL committee, which directly affects the game tempo, players, coaches and fans.
Some recent incidents are examples of it, such as Jamshedpur FC and NorthEast United game. There were several calls from both sides on the disgraceful referring. Jamshedpur FC (JFC) coach Antonio Iriondo also shared his opinion on this disgraceful refereeing.
” We had more possession and more chances than them (NEUFC). Both teams used their tools to win the match. The referee missed a clear penalty. This league could be a great league but with this level of refereeing, it is pretty much impossible. There is no way a referee can miss a penalty like that.” Antonio Iriondo spoke at the post-match conference.
ATK striker David Williams also shared his opinion on this issue against Mumbai City FC.
” Every match this season, you have seen bad refereeing, these amazing decisions. There a lot of good things about the league. But they are not focusing on the important thing that is refereeing. You cannot have this kind of situation every week.”
David Williams spoke at the post-match conference.
